One of the world’s most famous sports, Badminton plays about 220 220 million people worldwide. Like other racket sports, a well -executed service can create fruitful advantage at the launch of a rally.
“Spin Saro” was introduced by a Denmark player in the Polish Open 2023 Badminton Tournament. This technique increases the pre -spinning before the racket touches the shuttlekak, whose natural spin is usually determined by the inclined angles of its wings, often offers the shuttle’s flight route very unexpectedly.
In fact, this technique proved to be so effective that the Badminton World Federation imposed interim to use its use in response to the professional community. The players and coaches complained about the difficulty they presented, and there is concern that it will compromise with the excitement of the dynamic game through expanded rallies.
I Physics of FluidsResearchers at the University of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Packing University in China used Competition Flud Dynamics (CFD) and aerodium experiences to find the controversial service -serving technique trend.
“We were interested in basic aerodynamics.” In addition, displaying pre -spinning effects on the shuttlekock route and aerodemics, can help players learn the art of spinning service, and may help players return to the other side of the net, “
Researchers used CFD to imitate shuttlekock tricks while working under three conditions: Without pre -spin, shutdock with a pre -spinning direction in the direction of natural spin, and with pre -spin against natural spin. He found that the shuttlecock goes through three stages during the service: the phase of the business, the second phase, and the stability phase.
Zhang said, “Pre -spin affects the shuttering behavior, and the spin oppose the natural circulation of the shuttle with pre -spin, which extends the dual phase.” “The utility of the spin servo also depends on the rotation direction before the spin.”
The research presented the first 3D CFD imitation to test the shut lock track during spin services. Influenced by unstable stimulations that observed them in imitation, researchers said they would like to study further serving strategies – so that the physics behind them can be revealed and many players who love sports can be helped.
“In our future research, our focus will be focused on using the Motion Capture System to capture the shuttlekock path and help players improve their service skills,” Zhang said.
