India’s diverse renewable energy portfolio
Although solar energy often engulfs the headlines, India’s renewable energy transfer is a multi -dimensional effort that includes air, biometrics and sophisticated green hydrogen measures. This article detects key projects and programs that are diverse India’s clean energy mixture in 2024-2025.
India is not only focused on traditional renewable means, but is also investing in the next generation technologies through its national green hydrogen mission. As the Invist India reported in a February 2025 report, the mission aims to establish a green hydrogen ecosystem, which offers concessions for electrolysis manufacturing and production. The move also includes pilot projects for decoration of “hard -to -hap” sectors such as steel and transportation.
According to this mission, a historic project, according to Energy Monitor Dot AI, is Padidadaka Green Hydrogen Hub, which is a Gigwat Sky Integrated facility near Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, developed by NTPC Green Energy. In addition to hydrogen, India is also taking advantage of biomass through clean energy. The National Bio -Energy Program, with a budget of approximately $ 103 million, supports various bio -enjected measures, including the National Biogas and Manure Management Program, which takes advantage of agricultural waste for clean energy production, as detailed in the MNRE website reports.
India is also using new projects and policies with significant air energy potential. According to the Investment India, the government is providing financial support through the Waylaty Gap Fund (VGF) scheme to encourage foreign wind projects. An announcement of a tender for a 500 MW offshore project on the coast of Gujarat is already a sign of a new Frontier for Indian Renewable Energy. In addition, various utility scale and hybrid projects are being prepared across the country by various public and private organizations.
A recent report by JMK Research and Analytics highlights the increase of significant capabilities in states like Rajasthan and Gujarat, and as PIB has noted, Tata Power has committed an investment of about $ 14.4 billion in various renewable energy projects. The Oda Group has also promised more than $ 2.4 billion for green projects in Odisha, while other companies are pursuing large -scale solar projects in Andhra Pradesh, with Reliance Power Planning Investing nearly $ 1.2 billion in solar.
The success of these diverse projects has been developed by a network of government agencies and institutions. The Ministry works as a central coordinating body for all new and renewable energy (MNRE) renewable energy policies and programs. Under the MNRE, a “Norta” financial institution, Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (Ireda), plays an important role in providing loans and financial support for clean energy projects.
In addition, national institutions dedicated to solar, air, air, and nise, NIWE, SSS-Nibe are focusing on research and development to further these technologies, as detailed on the MNRE website. By following a comprehensive and diverse strategy, India is building the future of a flexible and sustainable energy that is far more spread by solar energy, which can ensure a strong and well -transailed transfer away from fossil fuel.
