A Colorado couple built their small house for $ 39,000. You think that such a low -cost house will be invasive, tight, or extremely spartan. This house is completely opposed – it has plenty of open space and has its own aesthetic touch with the Southwestern topic.
The residential room has a lot of natural light and pizza oven structure. The owner says that when the dome reaches about 600 degrees, it burns clean. The hottest air is maintained inside and the structure has about 12,000 pounds. Heat can last up to day. (Wood burning causes carbon, so it is not clean, but some people are not aware of this fact.)

The couple worked 90 % and helped some friends in their construction during the 8-9 months. The wife says, “The sun provides all our energy.”
The sun shines on the floor of the room, which heat it to about 95 degrees during the day. Then the heat spreads at night. There is two inches insulation beneath the floor. The husband explains that the main structure is made of sto blocks inserted and put inside the concrete. The dimensions of the house are 32 feet square, with some round corners. They say that round corners reduce the noise of the air. A Japanese technique was used for some of the outer wood that burns it and then oils it, which helps it.
The house is on a dozen acres in the rural environment, which gives it privacy. Of course, there was a cost for the land and the well. This cost was higher than the house. They have a point that they have to buy materials before construction so that something can be saved. Some people can buy materials while they are building and running at high prices they did not expect.
Here are some selection comments that I like:
- “It can cost 39k but it looks like a million! Very beautiful! Open concepts and natural materials are amazing! Thanks for sharing.”
- “You’re not all cheap! You’re Miscellaneous! Beautiful home! I love her love!”
- “I like all the small elements that not only stand up to this design but also stand for years to come. Place and storage performance, low maintenance options, and energy -saving options were selected at such a good level. It is a real masterpiece of a home, but it is a global masterpiece.
Personally, I would love to see some other solar energy and a small wind turbine, and the burning of wood or gas less or no.
