Samaritan Village Levels
The exciting story of the Samaritan village was revealed in the excavation at the archaeological site of the modern Kafir Qasim, the Kufr Kafir. The work of the Israelites Authority (IAA) revealed the remains of a village, which continued from at least the fourth to the seventh century CE. “The size and glory of the excavation directors Ala Nagoruski and Daniel Lehi Gorswald said,” The size and glory of the buildings discovered, the quality of their mosaic floors and impressive agricultural installations point to the great wealth and prosperity of the local Samaritan community. “

Inside one of the buildings, archaeologists revealed an excellent mosaic floor decorated with geometric samples and rich vegetables, which includes reflection of anthouses, grapes, dates, watermelons, artchets and asparagus. According to researchers, the village’s large -scale agricultural nature was the aftermath of the site, the previous luxury space was replaced with more useful construction. This change is likely with the fifth and sixth centuries of Samaritan rebellions, when the region’s Samaritan population revolted against the Byzantine rule, which implemented numerous sanctions policies against non -Christian groups. But when other villages of the Samaritan were either abandoned or destroyed, the infidel continued life. “This is an interesting site, which shows the historical aspects between the days of prosperity and the fall of the Samaritan community,” said Nagoruski.

Although the IAA excavation only revealed the fourth century and later buildings, historical sources suggest that the Kafir -e -Samaritan village was inhabited for at least the first century. Early Christian writer Justin Shaheed has suggested that a Samaritan, who founded one of the early Nostics movements, was born in the disbeliever. Maninder was a student of Simon Mags (or Simon the Wizard), which was recorded in 8: 9-24 because he was a collision with Rasool Peter.
