I picked up a Literac X Pack 2.0 about 6 months ago, and have been riding it pretty consistently ever since. It’s easy to fall in love with shiny new things at first sight and miss a lot, and this isn’t even a comprehensive look at the product. So when I do product reviews, I try to give it some time because if things come up, they usually don’t come up right away. I have a 2022 Safar SR motorcycle that has just passed 10,000 miles, and for example, soon, I will be doing my first review of it as well. (Baller, by the way – spoiler alert, I still love my Zero after 10k miles).

Lectric’s X-Peak 2.0 is the fat tire beast of e-bikes and has proven to be a very durable, comfortable and high-performance bike. I have some problems with it. Let’s start with the basics.

X-Peak High Stage 2.0 Long Range Ebike
Leclerc Ebikes Xpeq High Stage 2.0 Long Range E-Bike

The rear hub motor is much quieter than I ever imagined for a motorcycle of this size. It delivers steady, powerful performance with no rush, and it has a torque sensor that makes it feel like I’m underspeed or overspeed, my pedaling is fine as it should be – putting in enough effort but not overworking me. It’s more responsive when I push hard, and when I throttle my effort it feels like the motorcycle “gets it” and adjusts.

The bike’s best feature is the motor, but the frame and stability come close. The extra-fat tires handle all road and off-road conditions I’ve tested it in, and provide an incredibly comfortable ride. I have a parking area for the bike that doesn’t require me to carry it up stairs or load it into the car very often, so the weight of the Xpac 2.0 (~80 pounds) isn’t a problem for me. E-bikes aren’t usually light, but this one leans on the heavy side due to its rugged nature and highly durable components. I definitely hit a few potholes that I didn’t see coming and the bike handled them with ease. The frame, fenders, and rack protect the rider in wet conditions, and offer incredible cargo payload capacity.

Battery and range far exceeded my expectations. Six months in, and it doesn’t seem like the range has sunk in at all. I’m always pleasantly surprised to arrive wherever I’m going with more juice in the battery than I expected. Even at full throttle, the battery lasts longer than I expected.

The drivetrain is great. The handlebar controls are intuitive, and the gear range helps eliminate the risk of ghost pedaling, a common problem with many e-bikes. Chains, cogwheels and other components have remained strong and require no maintenance in six months, apart from loosening the chain. The left crank arm came loose, and I didn’t have an 8mm hex wrench, so it was a minor inconvenience until I added the tool to my toolbox.

Now that we have the basics covered, let me tell you about the ride. It’s so smooth. It accelerates quickly and hits high speeds quickly, and I feel like I grew up riding this bike. It’s hard to put your finger on the idea of an intuitive motorcycle, but this is one of the best I’ve ridden in that regard. It seems to be where I want it, where I want it. The steering, lean mechanics, handling, acceleration and braking are all well-engineered to perform and just feel great. It’s sensational. The full-throttle option is quick – quicker than I expected, and has shown no sign of slowing down in six months. Everything except the crank arm has held up pretty well over six months, plus, the bike looks to have some solid long-term durability (I beat my bikes… haha).

If you’re looking for a very durable, comfortable motorcycle that still delivers power and range, the Letric X-Peak 2.0 is a great choice… and has stood the test of time.
