We have a wonderful selection of entries for this year’s photo competition – which has been sponsored by the hidden history travel and archeology – with pictures that have taken us on history and all over the world. From images offering new perspectives of famous heritage sites to less well -known archaeological jewelry shots, the impressive rows of images presented for this year’s competition highlight many of our different ways that we experience past and find it. Archaeological photographer Adam Steinford serves as a geographical survey (ASGS), as our judge, and takes a look at entries. The results were announced on this Current archeology Awards ceremony on March 1.
This year’s overall winner is the image of Paul Zigmont, ‘The ancient world’, which shows the hill hill in County, Ireland.
The winning picture was in the exhibition CA Live! With a 2025 conference at the UCL Institute of Education in London, with our three runner -up (presented here according to alphabet).
First we have a picture of the Greg Metro of Marrow Pyramids in Sudan. The photo combines 100 photos taken within an hour, in which the famous koshite burial places are placed against the background of the sky before sunrise.
One of the runner -up is Matthew Brown, which contains a photo of the Noilithic Champor Tomb of Pantri Afin in the Pambrock Shire in the UK, caught under the colorful sky during a geographical storm in May 2024.
The third runner -up is Rashi Mehrotra, whose photo shows that Ponta is crossing the River Tiber in the Santengelo Room with St. Peters Basilica in the Vatican City.
Well done with the winners, and thanks to everyone who enters. We like to see your job. Keep an eye for details about CWA The photo competition is 2026, coming later this year. We look forward to seeing your entries!
