Each timeline revealed the same number of past partners (12), but with different patterns – some concentrates in life, others spread equally, and over time decrease over time. A major international study has found that when it comes to choosing a long -term partner, people around the world do not only consider how many sexual partners have, but also when they encountered these competitions.
This is the first time the researchers have discovered the quantity as well as the time of sexual history. The study has appeared in the journal Scientific Reports.
Under the leadership of Swansea University, the research surveyed more than 5,000 participants from 11 countries of five continents. It has been found that people are usually less willing to comment on someone with a large number of past sex partners, but if they are proposed to be reduced over time, they were more open.
Dr. Andrew G. Thomas, the lead researcher at Swansea University’s School of Psychology, explained, “People use sexual history as an indicator to evaluate the risk of relationships. In our native past, knowing someone’s sexual history, helping people with STI, infidelity, emotional instability, or except for extermination.
“Previous studies have revealed that people are generally less inclined to build relationships with individuals who have many sexual partners in the past. However, especially interesting about the results of this study is that this effect is reduced when these competitions are mainly in the past and this is what we have in the world.”
Participants were shown simple visual timelines representing the sexual history of a potential partner. Each timeline shows the same number of past partners, but with different patterns – some concentrations in life, others spread equally, and over time decrease over time. Participants then ranked their consent to advance a determined relationship, and revealed that the time of past competitions, especially the new partners, had slowed over the time, and their impressions were significantly made.
The study found little evidence of sexual dual standards, with men and women participants in the same way assessed sexual history. Only minor sexual differences were seen in countries and cultures.
Dr. Thomas said, “The results of this study indicate a lack of sexual dual quality, and challenges the idea that women are more strictly decided for their sexual past than men.”
The study also showed how people’s attitudes about comfortable sex affect their views. The people who were more open to a comfortable relationship were less affected by the sexual history of the partner, though they still have shown some sensitivity about it.
Dr. Thomas concluded, “Online conversation about people’s sexual history can be very harmful, but the results of this study show that the image is more important than that. We have been attracted to believing that society is sexually -sexual, but people are more likely to decide, but are more likely to be sexually transmitted.
“The results of this study not only highlighted the universal nature of our sexual psychology, but can be used to counter the misunderstanding of online sex history.”
