Time will tell. But if the British Archaeological Pierre Lylland has achieved his dream, it will be almost impossible: the human beings of this 18th family will surprise the rest and treasures of the world. Thomasis II Tomb Discover: Truths until 27 February 2025
- Announcement of February 18: Archaeologists revealed the discovery of a tomb that is believed to belong to Thusmos II near Laksur, which identified the first royal burial found for more than a century. Located 3 km outside the kings’ valley in the western valley – there is an area that is affiliated with the king’s wives. The tomb consisted of a chamber of burial, which contained a blue roof with yellow stars, which confirms it as a royal tomb. Lead archaeologist Larland first identified the site in 2022 but now announced excavation.
- Who was Thtmos II? A Pharaoh of the 18th family (possibly ruler 1493-1479 BC), Thtmas II was the son of the great warrior king, Thtmoz I. The young man died, leaving a lesser historical record than the father of Tamus III, one of Egypt’s largest rulers. His newly discovered tomb was badly damaged by the flood, and his remains were missing. However, evidence of broken albusters, relief pieces, and the king’s cartoon connected the tomb to it.
A second, unmanned grave?
Just a week after the initial discovery, the Joint Egyptian British team made even more interesting claims: a Possibly, the unmanned tomb of Thimasus II Hidden under 23 meters of debris. The site was deliberately hidden by ancient Egyptians, which makes experts suspected that the burial of Thomos II has been moved here after compromising its original tomb.
Key proof of this other tomb:
- lies under A. 23 meters (75 feet) man -made piles Lime stone, ash, debris and mud plaster.
- Built Mix into a natural mountain without interruption.
- Later, the logs recommend his wife, Hat shipst, maybe moved to his burial At a secret location.
Can this be really a royal tomb? The possibility is to be tantalized.

But what do you think about the Museum Thymas II mummy?
One Mimi was thought to have been Thtmos II in 1881 DB -320 was discovered in Albari Kachit. During the fall of the new kingdom (~ 1100 BC), the priests hid the bodies of the kings to prevent them from returning from the tomb. Today, this mimi remains on it National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC).
However, Litterland questions whether this mother is actually Thtmos II. His argument:
- DB320 Mom, labeled “AA-RE-RE-,” It was identified as Thustos II because it had a regular name “Aa-kheper-en-end.”
- This mother is estimated at about 30 years of age – real Thetomosis II can be younger.
- There has never been any recreational equipment containing the name of Thutmose II.
If the newly discovered tomb is an original mummy, and the DB320 is not Mimi Thutmose II – then who is he? It shows an unknown king Royalty’s weapons crossed And Specific thutmosid facial features, With a little overbayte. Is this Thuttosis I – or a relative? Someone can make speculation – but it will be a great deal to solve it.
What’s ahead?
Due to the volatility of the site around the discovery of this other tomb, the excavation team is moving forward Manually Will they enter the tomb before the spring? Lerland hopes.
But we have heard similar promises before. Notifications of discoveries of The tomb of nephritis and Cleopatra Repeatedly has surfaced – both Queens are excited. If a The main royal tomb with A Mother and treasures Elses, I will be the first person to celebrate. Carter itself will certainly raise a ghost toast for his fellow British archaeologists.
For now, though, though, we have something that is The possibility of washed tomb, some broken samples, and another burial under the rubble hill. Let’s wait cautiously.
