Ashera and Asheim: A symbol of the goddess or sect?

To detect evidence of the Bible and archeology

Tanach Clot Stand

It is believed that the four -tired clutter stand found in Tanach is thought to represent the Lord and the Ashra, in which each god is shown to the alternative. Note that on Tire Two, which is dedicated to Ashara, is the icon of a living tree, it is often thought of how Asherim was expressed as a symbol of a difference. Who is Ashra? Or, maybe, what is Ashra?1 Hebrew means “happy” or “straight” and some “sacred) place”. This term appears 40 times in the Hebrew Bible, usually combined with a specific article “The”. The definitive article in Hebrew is similar to English. For example, I am Allen, not Alan. Thus, it is clear that when there is a definite article that is not a personal name, it does not eliminate the possibility of being category of existence (ie, a type of goddess). There are only eight cases where this term appears without any article or suffix – soxes in Hebrew can be used to express occupation, such as “their,” their, “etc.

This diversity of grammar leads to these two questions at the beginning of this article: Who is Ashira? What is Ashra? This reference can be a symbol of a particular goddess, a goddess or a sect that is used to represent the goddess. Sometimes it is difficult to distinguish what the meaning of the meaning is (CF -judges 3: 7).

This goddess is known from many other ancient Eastern cultures.2 Sometimes he is known as the “Lady Ashra of the Sea” but can be taken as “the one that goes to the sea”. As an Ethiopian name for Ashera, he is the mother of 70 children (he belongs to the Jewish view of 70 patrons of nations). It has been argued that Ashra is a person of Egyptian, Haiti, Philistines and Arabic texts. The Egyptian representation of the “Jodshu” (possibly Egyptian name for Egypt) shows it naked with snakes and flowers, sometimes standing on the tiger. Whether it should be interpreted because the Ashara has been fought and should be carefully viewed. Another suggestion is that Ashra is also a Hetite goddess Esterto, who is married to Al -Akunirisa, which is God of the storm (he is often seen in relation to the God of regional storms).

In the Arabic logs, there is a possibility that it is seen as the sun goddess (this is probably a relationship in the Uttar Pradesh literature). In Finnish, he is a mother -in -law, who is different from the Arthritis goddess. 1 Kings 18:19 have some debate about the confusion of both. In the academy, she may be Amoru (the chief of the early Babylon’s god), Asham. This contact is made because the Acadisan kingdom (in the early 14th century BC) takes the title “The Servant of the Index”.

The Uttarak texts provide the most insights in the goddess. Ross Shamra (located on the coast of Syria), which was discovered in 1929, presents them as Lo’s wife’s authority. Their sexual confrontation creates the evening (Shalimi) and Dawn (Shahar) among others. His relationship with Baal is complicated, and it is suggested that Baal has killed a large number of his children.3 In these texts, after refusing to request Anat (his “sister” and his “daughter”), he intervened with L to get Baal to get a palace. She provides a son for Raj after landing at Baal Nidoor. These relationships are more complicated through discussions whether he is Baal’s mother or his concentration or both. The idea of being a partner comes from Financial Sources, where scholars have associated Ashira with tonite. Nevertheless, the contacts are temporary, and many scholars raise questions from the association. An speculation also shows that Baal occupied the position of L and took his consort, Ashra, which would make the relationship very Odle.

Cantilet-Jarod

This logic is found on a pathway of the Contact ‘Ajrod (like a log in the melodate Alcum). This has forced some scholars to assure that Ashra was considered to be the wife of the Lord in the popular religion, as he was considered to be the wife of L. Ashra or Asheim refers to more than a god just. These conditions are often used in the texts of the Bible, especially in the textures, which are used for strengthened poles. These poles represent the living trees, with which the goddess is associated. Some scholars believe that Asherim was not poles, but a living tree (such as Tanach Clot Stand shown on the stand). The poles were either carved to look like trees or to resemble the goddess (it can also be reflected in several pillars found in Israel). The remnants of these poles are determined by post -toles and rotten wood, resulting in different soil. There is a great debate about whether the symbol of the sect has lost its relationship with Ashira (and has become a religious symbol on his own, after which he did not know anything about his originating goddess) or is seen as a representation of Ashera (the way the cross is represented by Christians).

Relations between Ashra and Israel are complicated.4 Does the text refer to the goddess or its symbol?5 Jerbum and Rehobom promoted Ashra worship (1 Kings 14:15, 23). The worship of Ashera was very encouraged by Jazeble, with the presence of 400 prophets, who lived in the court of her husband, King Ahab (1 Kings 18:19). The worship of the Ashera is given as one of the reasons for deportation (2 Kings 17: 10,16). Ending Worship Efforts Asa, Joshia, Jehoshafat, Ezekia and Gideon (Exodus 34: 13-14; Dutheronomi 7: 5: Judge 6: 25-30; 1 Kings 15: 13/2 Date 15:16; 2 Kings 23: 4,7/2 Date 3,7; 2 Date 19: 3; ; 5: 14).

This may be clearly a lack of concern because of a popular link between the Lord and His Ashra. The “Lord and His Ashra” are in the shallow of the Contulus’ Ajarod (on a backlash;6 Some believe that she is thought to be seen as the Lord’s wife and she represents the goddess herself. Nevertheless, the presence of the suffix can suggest that this is not a personal name. Because of this, others believe that this is a reference to the symbol of sects. More unclear opinion claims that it means a silica or chapel. This meaning is found in other seminatic languages, but not Hebrew. Because of the similarities between Al and the Lord, it is understandable that Ashra could be linked to the Lord. Although some readers may find the idea that the Lord’s wife is disturbing, it is common in the ancient world to believe that the gods got married and even gave birth to children. This popular link between Jehoia and Ashra, and the finalization of Ashera from the Israeli sect, is probably a reflection of the appearance of monotheism from the former Israeli former Polyeshate World View.
