Archaeologists from the Israeli Antique Authority (IAA) have discovered an amazingly rare manufacturing site to prepare a Canaanite blade in southern Israel. Dating about 5,500 years ago, this site provides evidence for special technologies that will be necessary for the rise of citizenship in the early bronze period (3300-2000 BC), which leads to the destination of the affected Canaanian city states recorded in the Hebrew Bible.

To form blade
Despite the name of this period, the most prominent cutting tool in the early bronze period was made of bronze, not from bronze. Now, archaeologists have a much better idea than where these chamk blades have come. During the first few centuries of the early bronze era, the outskirts of the Kreit Gate were discovered during the excavation of salvation, this site, known as Nahal Nation.

Throughout the site, the excavators discovered the evidence of the preparation of a large -scale blade, which would require high level skills. These tall blades were formed by cautiously hitting or pressing on a large part of the chamk, called a core, just to remove a long and tight piece at the right angle, called flake. Flick can be removed further to create an extremely fast edge. These blades were widely used for purposes, including cutting of butcher knives and scales. Both the manufactured blades and the Chakmak core site were found in large numbers.
According to the excavation directors, “this is the first time such a workshop has been detected in southern Israel. Although evidence of the Canaanite blades industry has been discovered in the center and north of the country, there are nearly no workshops for their systematic production.”

“This is clear evidence that at the beginning of the bronze era, the local society here was organized and complicated, and had professional skills,” said Jacob Unkdi and Dodo Button. The uniform continued, “Today, we understand that this site works as a center, which was divided into a wide -ranging regions in the lences.”
In addition to blades and cores, archaeologists also discovered hundreds of large underground pillows, some of which stood with mid -BRICS. These pits could serve different purposes, including residence, storage areas or production space. However, their correct purpose is unknown.
