A. Sutherland – ancient pages dot com- Edward of Wood Stock (1330-1376) was the oldest son and heir of King Edward III PlantGnett of England.
Historically, he was a very talented leader during a hundred years of war (1337-1453), a series of battles between England and France in France, and later fought between Burgundy, a series of battles with peace periods.
Edward (at the age of 16) commanded the English army during the famous Christie’s war in 1346.
After his birth, he was known as Wood Stock Edward. Interestingly, his nickname “Black Prince” has not been mentioned in written historical records until the 16th century After two centuries of his death.
Of course, Edward the Black Prince showed the initial military intelligence. He was a talented fighter, encouraged and tough his active participation in the battles, which confirmed his excellent martial skills. He was known as a great commander and a partner of the promotion tournament during his life. His significant reputation as a cheerlead hero also participated in his reputation.
