August saw that the plug -in EV participated in Sweden 59.0 %, which is more than 56.0 % of the year. Beyu share fell to you, while the PHEV share increased. The total auto volume was 20,168 units, which is 6 % Yoy. Volvo EX40 was the highest -sale BEV in August.

In August Auto Sales, a joint plug -in EV shared 59.0 % in Sweden, with full battery electric (BEV) 33.6 % and plugin hybrid (PHEV) 25.5 %. These shares compare YOY 56.0 % joint, 35.7 % BEV and 20.3 % of PHEV.
With 2025 overall year to look back, the joint plugin is now standing at 61.1 % (35.0 % BEVS), while 2024 YTD statistics are 55.7 % (32.4 % BEV), and 2023 numbers of 58.5 % (37.8 % BVV). Recently. , While the weakness of 2024 has been partial restoration, Sweden’s transfer has still changed barely where it was 2 years ago. PHEV has increased its share, but – more importantly – is that – Beus has lost part.
The chart below has given a visual representation of the recent negative pace of the BEVS. The transfer has become a shame, especially when Sweden’s rapid progress in 2020 and 2021.

BOWS HOLD SALE BEV Model
Volvo EX40 was once again the best -selling BEV in August, which was the fifth time this year, with 493 units sold.
Volkswagen ID.7 was close, with 441 units supply, what EV3, with 431 units, with 431 units.

In addition to the expected variation due to logistics between some models, there were some notable performances in the top 20.
Return, Kia EV3 has performed very well since its inception at the end of 2024, and now he is a regular member of the top 5, and, growing, 3. Similarly, Volvo X90, which is also launched at the end of 2024, is now regularly ranked around the 10th place, with its premium prices a major result.
After debuting some other models quickly came to the peak and now they have settled slightly low volume (though still decent). These include the choice of Porsche Macan, the choice of Audi Q6 (both usually out of the top 20), and, recently, maybe Audi A6 (though it is too early to tell whether A6 is on the rise or not).
A recent bright location has been the progress of Renault 5, which was standing at 13th in August (from 10th in July), and now it looks more than 150 units per month and is regularly seen in the middle level.
The progress of the R5 contradicts its other B-class rivals. After launching in February, Hyundi Instructor is seeing a small amount of quantity in Sweden (10 units every month). Similarly, Sitroon EC3 is also having the same success, recently there are about 15 units every month. Renault 4 has still seen the amount of showrooms, but once properly allocation, it may have the opportunity to perform well.
In August there were several BEV debuts. Hyundai Ionik 9 A arrived (36 units) and the other large 3-syllable model, will the EV9, will compete with the VWID. Buzz, and the current leader, Volvo Ex90.
Talking about which, Ex90’s new siblings, Volvo Es90, debuted with 22 units in August. It is a premium large seedan coup (5,000 mm in length), divides its platform with EX90, and starts with 929,000 SEK (€ 84,300). At this point, the ES90 increases the early (people who are deep pockets who are just waiting for this kind of car), but will likely return to the slightest volumes.
Another important Debutta was the New Mercedes CLA, which registered 30 initial units. It may have been mostly dealership units, though the car is now available to order on the Mercedes website, which has identified the delivery of after September.
Mercedes CLA is a de -segments Sidan (4,723 mm), starting at 633,000 sec (57,400) in Sweden. It is also the first model that features a new generation of Mercedes’ Beau Power trains, which has tremendous performance (800V and Low Dig), Class Leading Range (over 700 km of WLTP in some settings), and very fast charging (320 kW). On paper, this should be a high -speed road trip vehicle than the Tesla Model 3, though it is more expensive. Let’s see how it runs.
Check the long -term rating now that the time has arrived:

Here, the competition between Volvo EX40 and Vox Wagon ID.7 is tough, with only 4 % difference in volume separates them. They have changed the position for the first 3 months.
The remaining members of the top 10 are exactly the same 3 months ago, with some minor positions changing. Has the EV -3 climbed two places, which is now in the fourth, and the pool star has recently climbed three places, which is now in 5.
With months of two record volumes, Volvo EX90 has now climbed the 15th, which is from 24th in the first period. Similarly, Renault 5 has climbed from the 33rd to 17th. Both should be a little ahead to climb before finding their sweet place.
In the next two months, we can see that Kapra enters Tawasan in the top 20 (now in the 21st), and later Zack R7X (now in 27).
