In the old town of Salzburg, Austria, a bronze has been discovered for a small Roman era. It was a decoration that was connected to the gate or wall of a urban villas with increased iron cases. Bronze items were usually melted for reuse later, so it is rare for living for one of the size. This is the biggest bronze model of the Roman Salzburg found since 1943.
The item was detected last year during the excavation of New Residents at the Vienna Belveder Museum’s New Salezburg Branch site, the historical site. The remnants of the Roman villa are matching 2nd or third -century ads, and the bronze ship was found under the rubble of the falling wall.
Since the item was corrected and broken, it was initially suspected that it could be an oil lamp, which is like the ancient ship’s pro. The item was exposed under a microscope, using a scalple and ultrasonic fine. Then unstable bronze content was strengthened by specially adaptive resin. The surface was also given a micro crystal line wax protective coating.
In the Museum Archaeological Workshop, “followed by plastic copies, it was restored and rebuilding the amazing item,” said Museum Archaeological Conservator Macsemilian Burtette. “So it was clear to me that it was not an oil lamp, but a decorative piece.” This item represented the heat of the Roman warship, which is complete with its Ram.
It was discovered that the ship’s pro was inserted into bronze, actually connected to the wall or door with an increasing iron. Spike was anchored with a complex overley cast in the hollow pro. A decorative disk was also fixed between the wall and pro. The museum states that “the ship’s pro affects in detail with its attention, which clearly reflects the railing.”
The plane was a symbol of victory and political status. The Roman Forum platform, where political speeches were made, Rostrum, was decorated with the goods of the seized ships and even his name was named. Author Titts Petronius describes a small roster, which talks about decorating the gates of the Tribalchu’s dining room, which is the main character of Navo Rich, the first century of his first -century fiction.
The high quality of this piece, the complexity of such shape, its decorative mount and the iron reinforcement indicate that the owners of the House had to become a member of the elite. The sign has identified how the Roman cultural and political malfunction spreads in the provinces as the empire increases.
The new Iuvavavum archaeological museum in Salzburg, which began in 2028, will be presented for a bronze sample after a conservation. At the same time, its original shiny Golden Patina will be represented with the construction so that visitors can see when it looks new.
There is evidence of the occupation around Salzburg and surrounding it, which returns to Nethayk, and several seeds have closed the area when the Romans attacked 15 advertisements, the Roman city of Ivoom was founded immediately after the attack. Later, where today is the old town of Salzburg. It was given 45 AD Municipal Municipal (Right to the Independent Municipal Government) and was one of the most important cities in the province of Noorikum. It was destroyed in 170 during the war against Emperor Marcus Orius’s Marcummani and other Germans. The city was never fully recovered from the Marcuminic attack, and most of the romance population left the city in 448 when the Gothic king of Italy offered them asylum in Italy.
