US space agency NASA Donald Trump will lose about 3,3,900 employees under efforts to trimmed the federal workforce. At the same time, the president has preferred staff mission plans on the moon and Mars.

In an emailed statement, NASA said that about 3,000 employees participated in the second phase of their late resignation, which closed at the end of Friday.

In conjunction with the 870, the first round and the staff’s regular departure, the agency’s government employees are about to fall more than 18,000 before taking power in January.

The resignation of the postponement of the National Aeronautics and the Space Administration will be kept on administrative departure till the unanimous date of departure. An agency spokesperson said the figures could be slightly less in the coming weeks.

The agency said, “Security is a top priority for our agency because we balance the need to become a more organized and more efficient organization and work to ensure that we are able to achieve the golden era of search and innovation, including the moon and Mars.”

Earlier this year, the Trump administration’s proposed NASA budget returned to the moon and traveled to the front and center of Mars, which reduced science and climate programs.

The White House says it wants to focus on “to beat China on the moon and put the first human on Mars”. China is planning for its first staff lunar landing by 2030, while the US program, called Artemis, has been repeatedly delayed.

NASA is still being run by an acting administrator when after a preliminary election to lead the administration agency, Tech billionaire Jareide Ishaqman – who was presented by former Trump adviser Elon Musk, was eventually rejected by the Republican president.
