Most people think that our early premises are roaming the ancestors in lush tropical forests. But new research suggests that they are bravery of the cold.
As an environmentalist environment who has studied chimpans and lemons in the field in Uganda and Madagascar, I am attracted to the environment that created our prime ancestors. These new results eliminate decades of assumptions on how and where – our lineage began.
The question of our own evolution is of fundamental importance to understand who we are. The same forces that have created our ancestors also create us, and will create our future.
The climate, which operates environmental and evolutionary change, has always been an important factor: which species survive, which takes a shield and which disappears. And as the planet is hot, past lessons are more relevant than ever.
Cold reality
A new scientific study through Georgia-Wolotorio by the University of Reading and other researchers, the geographical origin of our Premier Ancestors and the historical climate map at these places. The results are amazing: Instead of being developed in a hot tropical environment, as scientists thought earlier, it seems that the early premises live in cold and dry regions.
It is likely that these environmental challenges have been very important in putting our ancestors into other regions, evolution and spreading. This study shows that the premises took millions of years before making tropical colonialism. It does not seem that hot global temperatures have increased the spread or evolution of the premises into new species. However, the rapid changes between dry and wet climate climate pushed the evolutionary change.
One of the earliest premises was Tail Hardina, a small tree that weighs only 28 grams, which is nowadays according to the smallest premiere, Madam Barti’s mouse Lemor. Being so small, Tail Hardina had to get a high calorie diet of fruits, gums and pests.
Fossils suggest that Tel Hardina is different from the other time as the panic because it had nails instead of the claws, which helped catch branches and handle food. This is an important feature of the premiere to this day. Talerdina appeared about 56 56 million years ago (about 10 million years after dinosaur disappeared), and the species had rapidly dispersed its original in Europe and China.
It is easy to see why scientists prepared the premier in hot and wet climate. Nowadays, most of the premises live in tropical, and most of the premiere jooms have also been searched there.
But when scientists behind the new study used the gossip and jirgas data from the preliminary premiere environment to forecast the climate, they discovered that locations were not tropical at the time. The premiere originated in North America (once again, scientists believed, partially there is no premiere in North America today).
Some boyfriends even made the Arctic areas collective. These preliminary primary mouse have been saved from seasonally cold temperatures and the resulting loss of food by living like the mouse lumbar and dwarf lameer species: slowing their metabolism and even hybrining.
Challenging and changing conditions are likely to support the Permate that wanders a lot in search of food and better residence. Permeted species that are with us today are from these highly mobile ancestors. Few people capable of moving have left no children alive today.
From the past to the future
The study shows the value of the study of an animal and environment in which he lived. If we want to protect the species today, we need to know how they are at risk and how they will react to these risks. Understanding the evolutionary reaction to climate change is very important for the protection of the world’s premises and other species beyond.
When their residences are lost, often through forest harvesting, the premises are prevented from moving freely. With a small population, which is limited to small and less diverse areas, today’s premiece lacks genetic diversity to adapt to the changing environment.
But we need more than knowledge and understanding to protect the world’s premiere species, we need to change the political process and individual behavior, so that to deal with the consumption of bushmet – the main reason is the victim of humans. Otherwise, all the premises are at risk of being eliminated, including themselves.
